Update to system failure

Further to the issues we experienced yesterday we are happy to say that the computers seem to be back up and running as normal this morning.
Due to an air conditioning failure many of IT systems in GP practices in Lancashire were out of order, meaning staff at Riverside Family Practice were unable to access patient records until mid afternoon.
When staff were able to access their computer, access to clinical records was limited and often intermittent, meaning they could not print prescripitons, documents or patient records as well as the system running slow and sometimes crashing.
The IT failure also affected the telephone lines, meaning that incoming phone calls were also intermittent and sometimes staff could not hear patients when they answered the phone.
We would like to thank all our patients who were understanding and patient whilst our staff tried their hardest to provide the best clinical care possible under these very strained and difficult circumstances.
